The Session of my church voted this week to limit the Prayer Vigils to quarterly events. The dear, long-time church member who was organizing these prayer vigils, with the help of other women in the church, including me, wanted to have monthly vigils; actually, the organizer wanted to have weekly prayer vigils. But…no…our Session went along with the minister who recommended having fewer prayer vigils. So—-fellow church members, if you want to sit quietly in our lovely church building and pray your way through our long prayer list—toooooooooooo bad for you. Now, it’s quarterly.
